Saga of Development

   The Kerala Poultry Development Corporation Limited was registered in 1989 as a fully owned Govt. of Kerala under taking, primarily to provide increased momentum and thrust to propel the poultry industry in the state. The Corporation has been providing impetus for the promotion and development of Poultry Sector in the State of Kerala and this has been intensified and strengthened with diversified activities during the last Five Years.  Modernizing the Poultry in Kerala is the major thrust of the corporate strategy of Kerala State Poultry Development Corporation Limited.  Poultry is emerging as the fastest growing Sub-Sector of Agriculture contributing sizeable output to the State Economy.

 

There is an increase in production to the tune of 6044 Lakh Eggs during the last Five Years & the Growth in Egg Production is 50.55%. The concerted efforts of ‘Kerala State Poultry Development Corporation Limited’ [Kepco], has been a major striking factor in the great achievement of Egg Production during the Last Five Years It May Also Be Noted That Our Egg Production During 2001-2006 Showed a Negative Trend  &   Has Now Picked-up During The Last Five Years The Growth Rate In Our State Is 10.85% Compared to the National Average Of 5.76 %.
